For over a year, altogether, we have met early in the morning once a week as a group of guys. We did this in faith. We have been trying to be faithful, both to our calling as men in the Kingdom and to a much lesser degree 6:30 a.m. Over the span of that year, we've grown in our knowledge of one another. The time for that kind of exchange is, as several of us have voiced, coming to an end. We feel that in its place something deeper and more impacting should emerge. In essence, the purpose of this blog to provide a space for discussion. This discussion could reflect anything, from reflections to encouragement to fear. I suppose a good prompt would be to search your soul and bring something to share. Once someone has, everyone else can read their words and respond. While a fear exists in regard to blogging that people can make themselves out into anyone that they wish, either real or fictitious, I believe that we have a rare opportunity to avoid this pitfall in light of our time together over the past year. In other words, if we are not representing who we are, the others will know.
So, we have decided to read A Celebration of Discipline together. If I remember correctly, the first chapter is on prayer. I also remember there was a lot to chew on in that one, so start munching and let's share some thoughts.
